ALLAIRE STATE PARK, Farmingdale, DIRECTIONS: These directions are not for the main entrance to Allaire State Park. They are for the multi-use trail parking lot on Hospital Road. There is no mountain biking from the main entrance. Take Route 9 south to Adelphia Road (Rt. 524) east. Follow 524 as it turns right and becomes Squankum-Yellowbrook Road. Pass the main entrance. Turn right onto Hospital Road. The parking lot is half a mile on the right.
ALLAMUCHY MOUNTAIN PARK, Hackettstown, DIRECTIONS: To Allamuchy Natural Area: Take I80 to the Hackettstown/Andover exit 19 for Rt. 517. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp onto Rt. 517 South. Turn left onto a dirt road, Deer Park Road after 2.3 miles. Follow the very rocky, rutted-out dirt road for 0.7 miles and park at the first parking lot. The trailhead for the route is off to the left.
CLAYTON PARK, Upper Freehold, DIRECTIONS: Take Route 9 south to West Main Street (Route 537) south. Take 537 south past Interstate 195 and Great Adventure. Turn right two miles past Great Adventure at a Yellowstone sign onto Jonathan Holmes Road. At the first stop sign turn right onto Emleys Hill Road. The parking lot is three miles on the right.
CHEESEQUAKE STATE PARK, Old Bridge, DIRECTIONS: From Route 9 take Route 34 south make a left at Sunoco gas station to Cheesequake Morristown road. Proceed to traffic light, turn left onto Gordon Road follow into park.
DELAWARE / RARITAN CANAL, New Brunsiwck & Frenchtown, DIRECTIONS: Route 18 North make left onto River Road, left onto Hoes Lane into Johnson Park parking lot. Ride bikes south to head of trail.
FROST WOODS, East Brunswick, DIRECTIONS: From Rues Lane make left onto Summerhill Road to Old Stage Road. Park in the parking lot on right hand side. Trail head is in the back corner of parking lot.
HARTSHORNE WOODS PARK, Middletown, DIRECTIONS: Hartshorne Woods Park is located off of Route 36 in the hills which make up the highest point on the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. The park is less than five miles from the Atlantic Ocean in Middletown, N.J. The park can be reached by taking Exit 117 off the Garden State Parkway, or taking Route 35 to Route 36. Take Route 36 east twelve miles to the Scenic Dr. exit. Take a right at the stop sign. The parking lot is half a mile on the left
HUBER WOODS PARK, Locust, DIRECTIONS: Huber Woods Park is located in Locust, N.J., only a mile or so southwest of Hartshorne Woods Park. Take State Highway 35 to Navesink River Road. Take Navesink River Road 2.8 miles east to Brown’s Dock Road. Turn left. The park entrance is at the top of the hill.
LEWIS MORRIS PARK, Morristown, DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 287 take exit 35. Get onto South Street westbound and follow signs for Route 24 West through Morristown. The park entrance is about 3.5 miles on the left. Take the park road up to the top of the hill and take the first right for Sunrise Lake.
MERCER COUNTY PARK, Hamilton & West Windsor, DIRECTIONS: Take Route 1 to Quakerbridge Road (Route 533). Turn left onto Hughes Ave. The park entrance is a half-mile on the left. Take the second left off of the park road and park at the boat launching area. The trail begins across the field to the right of the boat launch.
ROUND VALLEY RECREATION AREA, Lebanon, DIRECTIONS: Take Interstate 287 North to Interstate 78 West to the Lebanon exit. There are signs for Round Valley Recreation Area. Turn right at light onto 22 West. Take the first exit for the Recreation Area. Go straight through the light at the end of the jug handle. The entrance to the area is on the left about half a mile past the boat launch area entrance.
SIX MILE RUN, Franklin Route 27 (Lincoln Hwy) just south of Hidden Lake Dr.Next to the soccer fields. Over sixteen miles of fast, flat with nice flow.
SOURLANDS MOUNTAIN PRESERVE, Hillsborough, DIRECTIONS: Take Amwell Road (514) west three miles from the Route 206 intersection. Take a left onto East Mountain Road. The park entrance is less than two miles on the right.
WHITE ROCK/CHIMNEY ROCK PARK, Martinsville, DIRECTIONS: Take I 287 to Rt. 22 East. Turn right at the first exit for Thompson Ave./Bound Brook/Martinsville. Take the immediate right jug handle for Martinsville and cross over Rt. 22. Turn left at the stop sign. Turn left at the T intersection. Turn left onto Newman’s Lane in half a mile. Take Newman’s Lane down and across a narrow bridge. Park in the tiny parking lot on the right before the road goes up the long hill.
MANASQUAN RESEVOIR, Howell, DIRECTIONS: Route 9 south to jug handle turn at Georgia Tavern Road. Cross over Route 9, make a right at the second possible right-hand turn (Windeler Road). Proceed about 1 1/2 mile, park entrance on the left.
TAMARACK HOLLOW TRAIL, East Brunswick. DIRECTIONS. Hillcrest Ave & Albrecht Lane. Trails marked approximately 2 miles long. Though they have additional unmarked trails.
